We are pleased to welcome Ricardo Gonzalez to our London team as our new Senior Property Facultative Underwriter.
Ricardo will report to Claudia Arango, and he brings more than a decade of international experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, with a strong track record across the UK, Europe, the US, and Latin America. He joins us from Sompo International, where he most recently worked in London as an AVP Senior Property Underwriter, focusing on the UK and European real estate market. In this role, he played a key part in growing the real estate portfolio and supporting strategic planning and broker relationships.
Before returning to London, Ricardo was based in Madrid, where he led the development of Sompo’s middle market property book in Spain and Portugal, helping to expand their footprint across Iberia and Continental Europe. He has also held various senior underwriting roles across Madrid, London, New York, and Miami, has deep experience in direct and facultative (re)insurance, multinational placements, and client relationship management.
Ricardo started his career in London at Allied World, gaining experience in treaty and casualty underwriting support before taking on broader roles in the US and Latin America.
With his diverse experience, strong technical skills, and cross-market insight, Ricardo is a great addition to our underwriting team as we continue to strengthen and grow our facultative offering.
